Joanna Cole (born August 11, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey), is a United States author of children’s books. She is most famous as the author of The Magic School Bus series of children's books. Joanna Cole has written over 250 books ranging from her first book Cockroaches to her famous series Magic School Bus.

The stories include selections from favorite easy readers by Dr. Seuss, Else Homelund Minarik, Arnold Lobel, Joanna Cole, and Bernard Wiseman. The poetry section is predominantly humorous and includes Calmenson's ``Giggle Poem'' and Russell Hoban's ``Soft-Boiled Egg'' from Bread and Jam for Frances (Harper, 1964). Anne Burgess' illustrations for the poems are fresh but muted watercolors with a comic element. 很多經典的繪本啊。書中眾所周知的的可愛主人公對於激勵小讀者保持閱讀習慣産生瞭非常正麵的作用。即便孩子們習慣靜靜的獨立閱讀，傢長們也還是要鼓勵孩子大聲朗讀，並以此來練習發音，當孩子們遇到不認識的生詞，提醒他們根據上下文情節理解其含義，這樣對於認識並記住生詞非常有幫助。
