然而这究竟不是我的home，饭后谈了一会，我惦记起我的旅馆来。我在旅馆，可以自由行住坐卧，可以自由差使我的茶房，可以凭法币之力而自由满足我的要求。比较起受主人家款待的作客生活来，究竟更为自由。我在旅馆要住四五天，比较起一饭就告别的作客生活来，究竟更为永久。因此，主人的书房的屋里虽然布置妥贴，主人的招待虽然殷勤周至，但在我总觉得不安心。所界上的人，倘定他们搭船乘车的期间的寿命，也许在人类社会上可减少许多凶险残惨的争斗，而与火车中一样的谦让、和平，也未可知。

其实过去每次女儿生病开药后，我都会留下所有的记录的。只是从北京搬家，没有带过来。而来上海快一年没有生过病。有点郁闷。
