The hobbit-hole in question belongs to one Bilbo Baggins, an upstanding member of a "little people, about half our height, and smaller than the bearded dwarves." He is, like most of his kind, well off, well fed, and best pleased when sitting by his own fire with a pipe, a glass of good beer, and a meal to look forward to. Certainly this particular hobbit is the last person one would expect to see set off on a hazardous journey; indeed, when Gandalf the Grey stops by one morning, "looking for someone to share in an adventure," Baggins fervently wishes the wizard elsewhere. No such luck, however; soon 13 fortune-seeking dwarves have arrived on the hobbit's doorstep in search of a burglar, and before he can even grab his hat or an umbrella, Bilbo Baggins is swept out his door and into a dangerous adventure. The dwarves' goal is to return to their ancestral home in the Lonely Mountains and reclaim a stolen fortune from the dragon Smaug. It is from this life-or-death game in the dark that J.R.R. Tolkien's masterwork, The Lord of the Rings, would eventually spring. Though The Hobbit is lighter in tone than the trilogy that follows, it has, like Bilbo Baggins himself, unexpected iron at its core. 新闻说，4月24号，导演彼得·杰克逊在自己的facebook上发表文章声明，霍比特人三部曲的最终集《霍比特人：去而复返》正式定名为《霍比特人：五军之战》（The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies）。他的理由是：“当我们在去年，就产生了更名的想法。我们当时并没有着急决定，而是保持一个开放的心态，想等到影片的最终剪辑完成后再决定。直到上周，我觉得是时候了。我们看过电影，都觉得现在只有一个名字与新电影相配。所以，也就有了现在的《霍比特人：五军之战》。”

时光网的此条新闻："霍比特人3"更名"五军之战" ，彼得杰克逊脸书发文亲自确认虽然才三四天，也有了近150条评论，比较热闹，足见广大影迷对其关注度。那么他们是怎么说的呢？我全部细看了一遍，赞成反对，大约各占50%，自我观点均十分有理。但我对其中一位的言论印象颇深：《指环王》第一集《护戒使者》最后一集《王者归来》，《霍比特人》第一集《意外旅程》最后一集《去而复返》，这样才是在认真的做一件事，在打造影史经典，而不是在忽悠观众在拿票房。第二集已经让我彻底失望。第三集光看名字已经可以预想到，彼得为了票房，已经破坏了整个故事结构，导演的底线也被《五军之战》 彻底碾碎。
