作者简介

Emily Arnold McCully is a children's author who was born in Galesburg, Illinois, in 1939, but grew up in Garden City, New York. She attended Brown University and Columbia University.

Among the awards she has won, Ms. McCully has received a Christopher Award for Picnic, and the Caldecott Medal for Mirette on the High Wire.

我们可以这样分一下：首先是大奖绘本。其中最有名的当然是美国的凯迪克大奖和英国的格林威大奖了。经过到处搜索，我家已经有了《make way for duckling》《inch inch》《have you seen my duckling》《why mosquitoes buzz in people's ears》《mirette on the high wire》等20本凯迪克获奖绘本。其次是公认的像Anthony browne、john burningham等大师的原版绘本呢。第三是潜在的大师，还没获奖的经典，有着好口碑的绘本。如《the story of the little mole》（是谁嗯嗯在我的头上），斯凯瑞的绘本。最后是应时应景的自己或自家孩子喜欢的某一本绘本。比如动物类别的，地图类别的。这次在上海买的《city i love》等等。Janet & Allan Ahlberg

谈到读书对孩子的影响，首先，我觉得读书是孩子的一种娱乐方式。现代的孩子们学习任务很重，面临着较大的竞争压力，孩子们特别需要娱乐活动来缓解压力。阅读有趣的课外书也是一种放松，孩子们看书不是为了再接着“上课”，不是为了单纯的学习而去看书。在大多数情况下，书籍成为孩子们的一种娱乐工具。比如我的孩子就很爱看名人幽默笑话、寓言之类的书，晚上睡前泡脚的时候，他会捧一本此类的书，一个人看得哈哈大笑，看到他那开心的样子，我们也很开心。当然，我们作为父母也应理解孩子，不要硬把阅读发展为一种单纯的教育工具，如果是这样的话，孩子对阅读的态度就会像对待课本一样了，也就失去了那种轻松自愿阅读的乐趣。
