雖然有中文譯本，但波普爾的書，即使很貴，也還是要買原版

　　施特勞斯和沃格林聯手封殺波普爾的故事許多人都知道，但為什麼封殺就鮮有人去剖析瞭。這當然是因為施特勞斯本就以特立獨行著稱，他和沃格林在背後嘲諷波普爾的書信中也稱“這封信不適閤給沒有資格的人看”。而且當時波普爾在美國學術界聲名鵲起，“熟悉他的作品好象成瞭教授們的一項職責似的”，施特勞斯本就對學術界不抱信心，不站起來正麵攻擊波普爾也是可以理解的。於是，波普爾就這麼莫名其妙的失去瞭芝大講席。不過他也並不是毫不知情，因為在《開放社會及其敵人》的第二版裏，他的一些聲明和修改、補充明顯是針對施特勞斯和沃格林兩人的。

The stories in this edition were very helpful in showing the backstories of several cats. I started out feeling bad for Mapleshade and thought "well now understand why she became so bitter" but when she also turned to murder I quickly lost that empathy.
