毛姆的文字有一種功力，宛若思特裏剋蘭德的繪畫那般，傾盡瞭全力的描述，把讀者帶入瞭一個拋棄一切而追逐藝術的精神境界。也許，沒有完全帶入，隻是在某個瞬間，如一束陽光照亮瞭讀者的心。透過這書陽光，我看到瞭天空的一角。
