（二）栽培區域
砂糖橘生産分布地域較窄，特彆是能生産春節上市的“葉橘”地域更窄，受製於過鼕時的氣溫，要求氣溫在0℃以上，否則會受霜凍。因樹上留果時果實已充分成熟，果皮開始衰老，氣溫0℃時稍遇風霜。即會齣現果皮鬆軟果而發生霜凍。若加上冷雨，則果皮發泡鬆軟．更加速冷害的發生。過鼕時高溫多雨，則會使果實汁胞粒化。風味變淡，不具備該品種的同有風味，目前廣東省最適宜乍産春節“葉橘”的地區，是從封開縣到從化市北迴歸綫上附近縣市，集中存西江流域的肇慶市（四會、德慶、廣寜、封開等地）、雲浮市（鬱南、雲安、雲城等地）、北江流域的清遠市（清新、佛岡、英德等地）。其他地區尚有廣州市（從化、增城等地）、惠州市（龍門、博羅等地）、陽汀市（陽春市）以及茂名市（信宵），而在霜凍前采收果實的粵北韶關市（麯江、南雄）等市縣也有栽種。廣東栽種麵積約200萬畝（畝為已廢除單位，l畝=l/15公頃＝667米。）。外省區以廣西栽種最早。麵積最大，一年內將會突破100萬畝，此外江兩、湖南、四川、重慶、浙江、湖北等省市均有引種。圍外亦有砂糖橘銷售，如加拿大溫哥華市9月上旬已在超市Ⅲ售。但該品種並不是廣東省的砂糖橘，可見本種影響力之大。
（三）經濟效益
四會市一直保持砂糖橘單株産量500於剋的曆史記錄。據2004年四會市砂糖橘“品味、株産、畝産”之最驗收評選的結果，單株估産量最高是16年生樹，為356.4韆剋，每畝種植73株，估産最高是15年生樹．約8906韆剋。2006年清新飛來峽鎮亦有25年生樹株估産250韆剋的“橘王”。一般植後3年試産。
