2017年，電影版的新一代小醜由剛好在1990年齣生的“四妹”比爾·斯卡斯加德演繹，導演是執導瞭《媽媽》(2013)的Andrés Muschietti。

美國華納影片公司發布瞭一組zui新官方劇照：“小醜”在紅色氣球的“掩護”下開始瞭破壞之旅，畫麵的構圖相當詭異和恐怖，在另一張劇照中，近景是“小醜”戴著白手套的特寫，遠景是一群受到驚嚇的孩子們。

從劇照可以看齣，這是一部典型的恐怖片。演員陣容雖是孩子，但卻是一部R級電影，影片將毫不忌諱地展示虐待場麵和“毀滅性的創傷”，這勢必會讓很多影迷如坐針氈。

電影改編自斯蒂芬-金齣版於1958年的同名恐怖小說。根據《齣版人周刊》的數據，它是當年美國zui暢銷的小說，於第二年獲得瞭英國幻想文學大奬、軌跡奬和世界幻想文學奬項提名

如史蒂芬金在推特上所說的，【小醜迴魂】這部電影事實上隻是改編瞭小說中的上篇「loser俱樂部」的劇情；也就是說，隻要這部電影賣齣佳績，肯定會有更多比鬼還可怕的繼續齣沒大銀幕！

一九四七年齣生於美國緬因州波特蘭市，後在緬因州立大學學習英國文學，畢業後因工資菲薄而走上寫作之路。自一九七三年齣版部長篇小說《魔女卡麗》後，迄今已著有四十多部長篇小說和兩百多部短篇小說。其作品是近年來美國暢銷書排行榜上的常客，還被翻譯成三十多種語言。有超過百部影視作品取材自他的小說。他因此被譽為“現代驚悚小說大師”。

一九九九年，斯蒂芬金遭遇嚴重車禍，僥幸大難不死。在康復後，他又立刻投入寫作。

二零零三年，他獲得美國國傢圖書基金會頒發的“傑齣貢獻奬”。其後又先後獲得世界奇幻文學奬“終身成就奬”和美國推理作傢協會“愛倫坡奬”和“大師奬”。

在斯蒂芬·金的眾多作品中，以曆時三十餘年纔終於完成的奇幻巨著“黑暗塔”係列（共七捲）為壯觀，也受金迷推崇，書裏的人物與情節，散見於斯蒂芬·金的其他小說中，堪稱他為重要的作品。
