作者簡介

The Little Golden Books, which initially sold for 25¢ (rising to 29¢ in 1962), were published by Simon and Schuster in cooperation with the Artist and Writers Guild, Inc. headed by Georges Duplaix. Duplaix had initially thought up the idea for the Little Golden Book series, assisted by Lucille Ogle, and fleshed it out in conversations with officials at Simon and Schuster. Dr. Mary Reed, a professor at the Teachers College of Columbia University, served as initial editor of the series.

Western Printing and Lithographing Company in Racine, Wisconsin was Simon and Schuster's partner in the Little Golden Books venture. Western handled the actual printing. In 1958, Simon and Schuster sold its interest in Little Golden Books to Western.

Ownership and control of the series has changed several times since. In 2001, Random House acquired Golden Books for about 85 million dollars.

Although the Little Golden Books have remained the backbone of the product line, the enterprise that produced the Little Golden Books has created a variety of children's books in various formats including records, tapes, videos, and even toys and games (the fourth and fifth as "Golden & Design"). Some titles have appeared in several different formats (including but not limited to "A Golden Book").

"Three stories which were originally published separately during the fifties and sixties are combined for this Golden Book. Good Night, Little Bear, Chipmunk's ABC, and The Bunny Book should still hold their appeal for preschool children. Little Bear's story begins when it is time to go to bed and Father Bear puts him on his shoulders for a ride to bed. Father Bear pretends that he cannot find Little Bear and the fun begins. The ABC story is delightfully illustrated with cute animals and follows Chipmunk through little adventures with his friends. Each letter of the alphabet has a sentence or two describing the happenings. In "The Bunny Book" the baby bunny's family tries to guess what the baby will do when he grows up. Everyone has ideas about his becoming a fireman, a mailman, or even a lion tamer. The baby bunny knows all along what he wants to be. He wants to grow up and become a daddy who takes good care of his children. The sweet stories are all full of small, delightful surprises and the illustrations are lively and cute."

ANIMAL TALES小金書真是大愛啊，我完全是衝著這個顔值買的，很厚，裏麵的故事也很好，裏麵的圖畫也很與愛，作為英語啓濛教材真的不錯，而且這次碰到滿減加優惠券，我覺得很便宜瞭，不過後來好像又降價瞭，有點小不開心，又買貴瞭，不過也是物超所值啦，推薦。店已經收藏瞭很久，不過是第一次下手。應該說還不錯。 第二次來買瞭，貨比我想像中要好！！老闆人錶揚下。。 包裝看起來很好，包得很用心，相信貨一定很好，謝謝瞭！

不得不感嘆原版書的質量，畫質清晰得不得瞭！太喜歡瞭，可惜小姑娘目前的英語水平還達不到，理解不瞭。不過這書買的很直，挺厚一本，好幾個故事。
