　　 王右将军逸少，晋、宋一流人也。遗情轩冕，摆落世故，盖其生平雅怀。自去会稽内史，遂不肯复出。自誓于父母墓下，词致确苦。予味其言而深悲之。又读所与谢万石书云：坐而获逸，遂其宿心。比尝与安石东游山海，颐养闲暇之余，欲与亲故时共欢宴，衔杯引满，语田里所行，故以为抚掌之资，其为得意，可胜言邪。常依依陆贾、班嗣之处世，老夫志愿尽于此也。

湘湖高丘，草木蔚蓊。维水容裔，维山宠褪。矢其铭诗，词费以冗。奈何乎公，万撰毋耸。若韩、孟、籍、彻《会合联句》三十四韵，除嫁蛹二字《韵略》不收外，余皆不出二肿中，雄奇激越，如大川洪河，不见涯涣，非琐琐潢污行潦之水所可同语也。其诗曰：「离别言无期，会合意罙重。病添儿女恋，老丧丈夫勇。剑心知未死，诗思犹孤耸。愁去剧箭飞，讙来若泉涌。析言多新贯，据抱无昔壅。念难须勤追，悔易勿轻踵。吟巴山荦鞑，说楚波堆垄。马辞虎豹怒，舟出蛟鼌恐。狂鲸时孤轩，幽狄杂百种。瘴衣常腥腻，蛮器多疎冗。剥苔吊斑林，角饺饵沉涿。忽尔衔远命，归欤舞新宠。鬼窟脱幽妖，天居观清拱。京游步方振，谪梦意犹恂。诗书夸旧知，酒食接新奉。嘉言写清越，愈病失肮肿。夏阴偶高庇，宵魂接虚拥。雪弦寂寂听，茗盌纤纤捧。驰辉烛浮萤，幽响泄潜莹。诗老独何心，江疾有余厘。我家本澶谷，有地介皋巩。休迹忆沉冥，峩冠惭板褥。升朝高辔逸，振物羣听悚。徒言濯幽泌，谁与萝荒茸。朝绅郁青绿，马饰曜珪珙。国雠未销铄，我志荡邛陇。君才诚倜傥，时论方汹溶。格言多彪蔚，县解无梏拳。张生得渊源，寒色拔山冢。坚如撞羣金，眇若抽独蛹。伊余何所拟？跛鳌讵能踊。块然堕岳石，飘尔罥巢氄。龙旆垂天衢，云韶凝禁甬。君胡眠安然，朝鼓声汹汹。其间或有类句，然众手立成，理如是也。
