最初，检察方面的工作一直是比较顺利的。丸红公司专务伊藤宏供认，丸红公司转送给田中的5亿日元都是由他一手经办，他交代了这4次交款的时间、金额和地点。前三次都是在路上进行的，分别是1973年8月10日的1亿日元1973年10月12日的1.5亿日元和1974年1月21日的1.25亿日元最后一次是1974年3月1日，在伊藤宏家里转交了1.25亿日元。伊藤供认，这四次交款都是将现钞放在纸箱里由板本敏夫接收的。前三次在路上转交时在场的人还有梗本敏夫的司机和伊藤自己的司机松岗克浩。
